Since the rise of the fast-food phenomenon in the mid-to-late 20th century, burgers have become a popular dish in Australia. The American diner-style restaurant experience had a massive impact on Melbourne and Sydney’s suburbs. Due to the accessibility, low cost and trends, burgers are dominating the landscape of Australia’s food establishments.
Burgers have become the “perfect cheat meal”; however, they are not as unhealthy as people think; all you need is the proper ingredients.
Everyone knows how to make a burger, it sounds straightforward to fire up the grill and make delicious burgers, but there’s a lot more to it than that. If you’ve ever cooked a burger at your home, the results might not have been as perfect as you thought. It might have been cooked perfectly from the inside but was totally flavourless, or it might have had a nice flavour, but the inside was overcooked. It is also likely to leave you with more leftovers of your fillings than you know what to do with.
Here are the reasons why burgers will never be a part of my at-home cooking menu:
It’s not cost-effective
Grounded meat, bun, cheese slice, veggies, mayo and some seasoning – making a burger requires a good amount of ingredients. It’s not cheap as you think, and you can’t buy just a single bun or slice of cheese anywhere. You have to buy the entire packet, which will be way too much for many people.
Also, you will need a good amount of time to make it, and with that many ingredients, there will be lots of leftovers. Overall, it is going to be more expensive to make your burger at home, so instead, go and buy one from a restaurant.
Restaurant Burgers Taste Better
Unless you are a chef, there is no chance restaurant burgers taste the same as homemade ones. It’s obvious that most food will taste better when cooked by professionals. It’s their job, unlike us, who only cook burgers occasionally. They know which ingredients are better and how to get the most out of them.
Apart from experience, the ingredients and tools they use are specifically made for cooking burgers, which makes the burger taste better. Even if we manage to get the best ingredients, it’s very rare for a home cook to have the same tools as a restaurant.
Lots Of Effort
A burger might seem like an easy dish, just a bun and patty, but it takes lots of effort than you think. From getting all ingredients from the store to preparing everything and cooking, it can be a bit of a hassle. I don’t know about you, but I want my dinner to be nice and easy after a hard day at work.
Well, I don’t want to go through all the pain. It’s always easy to go to a burger joint and order a delicious burger. So, that’s what I do, and that’s why I will only ever order burgers from my favourite burger restaurant, Milky Lane. Their burgers are incredible, but they also have amazing sides, desserts and drinks.
