What’s in a name? Reviewing milky lane’s burger menu and the reference to key celebrities you don’t know about.

Since 2016, Milky Lane has been tossing out people’s assumptions of what an Australian burger restaurant should be. Not only do they provide the juiciest most succulent burgers around, but they do so with style. The only thing they love as much as their burgers, is hip-hop. Not only is this obvious by attending any of their restaurant locations, but also by looking at our menu! Whether you’re sitting back and admiring the art-work interiors, or bopping your head to the groovy in-house tunes, you’re always going to appreciate the Milky Lane celebrity themed burger menu.

With 6 of their burgers in reference to celebrities across the globe, how many do you recognise? We’re going to dive into every celebrity-referenced burger on the Milky Lane menu, and what makes it so delicious. Let’s get started!

Chic-Kanye

For some, the contents of this burger and its reference is pretty self-explanatory. For others, here’s your answer. The Chic-Kanye combines the tasty crispiness of southern fried chicken, with the musical genius of American artist Kanye West. In addition to the chicken, this burger contains crispy maple smoked bacon, two slices of American cheese, Carolina slaw, butter leaf lettuce, pineapple relish, Sriracha and Milky Lane’s BBQ sauce. Aside from Kanye’s apparent love for chicken, he dabbles in rap, producing, and fashion. West is one of the world’s best-selling music artists, becoming influential in the development of mainstream hip-hop. In his spare time, West’s filter-less, outspoken views have received significant media attention over the years. Maybe that’s why they’ve added sriracha sauce, to compliment his spicy personality!

Kevin Bacon

Next on the list is as self-explanatory as it gets. The only celebrity on this list that isn’t a rapper, rather, a well-renowned Hollywood actor and country rock musician! Despite the uncanny resemblance of his name to the contents of this burger, Kevin just loves burgers! And bacon. We think. Anyway, this burger consists of a double char-grilled beef patty, two slices of American cheese, double crispy maple bacon, caramelised onions & pickles, and Milky Lane’s BBQ & truffle aioli sauce. Bacon has starred in countless Hollywood films, including the 1995 hit Apollo 13, and controversial thriller JFK. The Guardian named him one of the best actors to have received an Academy Award nomination and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the film industry in 2003.

Big L

Another easy one! Big L was an American singer & songwriter that became famous through his impressive freestyling ability. Big L sadly passed at the age of 25, and we believe this burger is an impressively tasty testament to his legacy. Starring a char-grilled free range organic chicken breast (shout out to his free-range rapping ability) coated in Portuguese chilli marinade, swiss cheese, peri peri sauce, garlic aioli and shredded iceberg lettuce. This is a great option for those organic chicken lovers out there, and Big L lovers too!

The Drake

This burger is a shoutout to the Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, actor and entrepreneur Drake. Amongst the hip-hop community, Drake is known to be a more placid rapper. Whether that’s his Canadian background or just his personality, we don’t know. But they have made a burger that appropriately suits his demeanour. The Drake is a vegetarian burger that consists of char-grilled plant-based beef patty, double American cheese, butter lettuce, pickles, diced onions, sliced tomatoes, and Milky Lane’s ketchup sauce. With over 170 million records sold, winning 4 Grammy Awards, 6 American Music Awards, a record 27 Billboard Music Awards, 2 Britt Awards and 3 Juno Awards. It’s safe to say they had to create a burger equally as impressive as the artist representing it, and I think they’ve done just that.

Lil Weezy & Fried Chicken Weezy

Our final celebrity artist on the menu has not 1 but 2 burgers named after him. Does that make him twice as good? Maybe. Does it mean we prefer his music over his peers? Maybe. What we do know, is that both of these burgers are pretty bloody delicious. The Lil Weezy contains a char-grilled premium quality Australian beef patty, double American cheese, diced onions, pickles, garlic aioli, American mustard, cheese gravy and Milky Lane’s ketchup. The Fried Chicken Weezy however, swaps the beef patty with crispy southern fried chicken. Worked out who the final artist is yet? That’s right, it’s Lil’ Wayne. A hugely successful American rapper, singer, songwriter, record executive, entrepreneur and actor. Lil’ Wayne is regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, and often quoted as one of the greatest rappers of all time. With his distinctive appearance, and highly unique voice, Lil’ Wayne is a rapper we’ve all seen or heard of at least once in our lives. Gifted with reference to two Milky Lane burgers, Lil’ Wayne caps off an exciting breakdown of Milky Lane’s burger menu references.
